Notes for 18 Feb 2009 meeting 0930-1030 Bldg G Conference Room

Attending: Fred Bahr, Francisco Chavez, Kevin Gomes, Mike McCann, Reiko Michisaki

Systems engineering diagram review

  • Need to add ROVCTD
  • Would like to have no dotted lines for the BOG data flow

Progress reports

  • Mooring
Fred  and Mike reviewed 4 possible ways to combine QC'ed mooring data with currently deployed data:
  1. Conversion program to transform existing QC'ed netCDF files to OceanSITES format that SSDS creates
  2. Use NCML and THREDDS to alter metadata of existing QC'ed netCDF files
  3. Reprocess QC'ed data from Matlab .mat archive
  4. Publish all the original observed data to SSDS and use the DPforSSDS software to generate netCDF files

(We prefer option #1 and will proceed.)

  • AUVCTD
Entire archive of decimated Data is available now via THREDDS. How applications can make use of the data is to be determined.
  • ROVCTD
    Kevin is investigating DRDS
  • BOG
Kevin is investigating DRDS and will see Reiko about access to BOG after understanding how DRDS works.

Application Discussion

  • Initially use Google Earth 5.0 as a geospatial-temporal data browser for data served through the THREDDS server.
